Aratos Crisis Management

1. Earthquakes
a. Displays earthquakes from all over the world (pinning on iOS map).

b. By tapping on a pin the user is provided with informations about where the earthquake took place, time and size.

c. Zoom in and out on map.

d. Email ability (by tapping on a pin except the ability to inform the user as described on 1.b the user also can tap on the email icon and the information get transfer from the pin to the email form, facilitating the user sending the email faster and without the need to write the information).

e. Filtering provides the ability to the user to filter the earthquakes by size and/or time (earthquakes data provided are of 12h length). Doing so the user can get the earthquakes he/she is interested to. Filtering leads to a list that is smaller and also providing with the earthquakes place(name), size and time. Tapping on a row of the filtered list leads back to the map and zooming in to the location of the tapped earthquake.

f. Another ability the app gives to the user is to organise all the area he/she is interested to by saving them in a list so that they can retrieve them in a later time no needing to scan all the map to get to them. This also protect the user from missing places because he/she forget to scan an or some area.

2. Fires

a. The fire tab differentiates from the earthquake one in the manner that it asks the user to select an area first. We reach at this solution because the fire data are too many and would make the user to wait until all the data are downloaded for the app to be able to display them. Also after being displayed ,that big amount of data, makes the app to slow because of cpu work it demands to render all those pins.

b. By tapping on a pin the user is provided with informations about the fire brightness and confidence.

c. Zoom in and out on map.

d. Email ability (by tapping on a pin except the ability to inform the user as described on 1.b the user also can tap on the email icon and the information get transfer from the pin to the email form, facilitating the user sending the email faster and without the need to write the information).

e. Filtering provides the ability to the user to filter the fires by brightness and/or confidence (fires data provided are of 24h length). Doing so the user can get the fires he/she is interested to. Filtering leads to a list that is smaller and also providing with the fires brightness and confidence.
